a taste of art

On May 7, Impostor Gallery hosted the very first edition of A Taste of Art: an evening where contemporary art, conversation and wine came together at Wijnbar ONA Belfort in Ghent.

As part of the exhibition Full-Bodied: Notes on Realism, artists Emma Lespoix and Emely Deceuninck joined founder and moderator Naomi Vanderpoorten for an intimate conversation about realism in contemporary painting.

Throughout the evening, the discussion moved beyond technique and figurative painting alone, touching on themes such as memory, intimacy, vulnerability, insecurity and the tension between attraction and discomfort. In between conversations, Alex from Wijnbar ONA guided guests through a tasting of six carefully selected wines.

What emerged was not a traditional lecture, but a warm and open encounter between artists and audience. There was laughter, curiosity, vulnerability and above all: genuine attention for the works and the stories behind them. Exactly the kind of atmosphere Impostor Gallery hopes to create through its events and exhibitions.
